Narrative Therapy

Narrative Therapy is a respectful and powerful way to provide non-blaming and non-shaming approaches to counselling. The Narrative Therapist sees ‘you’ and ‘your family’ and ‘your community’ as the experts of your own lives. The intention is always to separate problems from the individuals identity or their cultural identity.

Individual Therapy - One to one counselling either in person, telephone or via zoom.

Family Therapy - We understand that sometimes families need to heal together and can accept larger family group therapy sessions.

  • Tamara Young

    Pronouns : She, her, hers

Clan : Gamilaraay, also known as Kamilaroi, Kamillaroi

I am a strong and proud Kamilaroi woman from Northern NSW. I have overcome many of my own trauma stories as an Aboriginal woman and it is through the power of yarning that I have arrived at where I am today. I am a strong believer in the power of self efficacy (confidence in the ability to exert control over one's own motivation, behavior, and social environment). My role as Narrative Therapist is to support you in finding your own solutions to problems and helping separate problems from people whilst building strength and resilience through Cultural Connection and Identity Strengthening and or Identity Formation.

I provide a culturally safe, non-judgemental and trauma informed space for deep and purposeful yarns to help you find the answers to the problems you are experiencing in your life.
